Fun Reception extras

Lets be honest here, receptions are the reason people go to weddings! Of course it's an honor to witness a couple making a life long commitment to one another, but most people just want to boogie!

Any average bride can have a great DJ and drinks flowing, but I want to go the distance!

Cornhole? Yes ma'am!

Don't have the budget to rent an expensive Smilebooth? No worries, just hang an empty frame with a sheet behind it and let your guests become the photographer!

You could even have some clever props near the the frame for your friends to tie into their photos. I, for one, could entertain myself for at least 30 minutes with one of these.

Why not have everyone write the bride and groom well wishes, and drop them in a cute little container? You could even make cute little signs that say "Leave us a little note, drop us a wisdom donation, so that we may read them and remember this day, on our one year anniversary celebration!"

I love Cake Stands!

I dont really like cake or icing, but I swoon over beautiful cake stands! They are just unbelievably versatile and amazingly adorable! One of the biggest challenges I have set for myself during wedding planning was trying to spend my money (I have a very small budget, my parents do not believe in frivilousity!) on things that would not go to waste after our fleeting big day was over. In walks "the cake stand." Are they necessary? Gosh, no! Can they turn a cheap wedding cake from Walmart into something wedding magazine worthy? YES! And for the kicker: you can use them as centerpieces at your first grown-up/married life dinner party! Or once you have honed your inner domestic goddess, you can whip up some cakes and serve them on your cake stand.

I squealed when I ran across these Clara French Cake Stands. How perfect for a shabby-chic wedding? Or any wedding for that matter. They just ooze perfection! If you dont want to throw $$$ at these beauties- you can rent one!

How cute would an ivory butter cream cake with extra large swoops in the icing look on this??

A more cost effective option, and with precious little beads!

Or, channel your inner "simple elegance diva" and go for a white cake stand that will surely let the cake steal the show!

and as an added bonus:

You've got the bottom of the cake all figured out! Now to make the top of it adorable? Why not print out pictures of you and your groom and make those your toppers. Everyone is doing cute little love birds- why not try something featuring you and your little love bird!

Your wedding Ally

My name is Ally and I am getting married in March. I am a self-proclaimed lover of the internet, just ask my fiance. I love to browse around and look at all the interesting things out there. When I got engaged my obsession with bows and ruffles merged with my love of the world wide web and I began collecting all kinds of neat things I found that were wedding related. Now that my wedding is 10 weeks out {WOW!} I have become a wedding details extraordinaire! I have so many ideas and sources, it would be impossible to include them all in my wedding. So, I decided I should not hog all of these fabulous websites, ideas, and pictures and share them with who ever would like to take a little peeksy!

Most of the things you will find are "my kind" of amazing. Let them be your ally {get it??} in the obnoxiously fun time leading up to your wedding!
